      A few things about your article bother me. First you said there is no scientific way to tell if a mushroom is poisonous or edible. A spore print is an excellent way to tell,and knowing the terminology of fungi/mushrooms. A great Field guide or someone who KNOWS their stuff! A personal favorite is by Robert Rogers, author of The Fungal Pharmacy 7 along with other books as well as articles published in issues of Fungi Magazine and Mushroom the Journal.   Fungi are almost always invisible to the naked eye. At certain times, some fungi will produce large ‘fruiting bodies’ called mushrooms that produce huge numbers of spores for reproduction.
